Instructions to assistant teachers not to take BLO duty against the law
Prayagraj. Following the provisions of Section 27 of the Compulsory Education Act 2009, the Allahabad High Court has directed assistant teachers not to take non-academic work. The court has directed the Director General School Education Uttar Pradesh to issue necessary instructions to the District Magistrate Kaushambi and District Basic Education Officer Kaushambi to follow the law on the petition. Assistant teachers should not be made to do non-academic work. Justice Ashutosh Srivastava has given this order while disposing of the petition of Anand Kumar and 73 other assistant teachers of Kaushambi’s primary schools.

On behalf of the petitioner, it was said that the High Court has clearly issued instructions not to take non-academic work from assistant teachers in the Sunita Sharma case. Despite this, the petitioners are being put on BLO duty.
