Prayagraj, Correspondent. Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University has got the recognition of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for the first time. Based on the inspection and evaluation by NAAC team, the university has been awarded B+ grade. With this achievement, the physical resources of the university will increase, which will directly benefit more than 70 thousand students studying in Uttar Pradesh. While deciding on the reconsideration petition made by the university, NAAC has issued B plus grade to the university through email. UPRTOU, established in the year 1998, applied for the recognition of NAAC grading for the first time. After which, last year, a seven-member team of NAAC had evaluated the academic quality as well as administrative and infrastructural arrangements of the university. The team inspected the main offices of the university located in the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati campuses as well as the regional center, Varanasi and the adopted village.
The NAAC team evaluated the academic years from 2015 to 2020 on the basis of SSR. Later the team prepared its report and submitted it to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. After a long wait, there is an atmosphere of happiness in the university due to this achievement in the silver jubilee year. Vice Chancellor Prof. Seema Singh told that the process of evaluation had started even before she came here. Former Vice-Chancellors and all the staff have contributed a lot in taking the University to this point.
