Lucknow, the process of promotion of teachers of primary schools has started. Basic Education Director Shubha Singh has called for the information of all the vacant posts till January 13. In this, sanctioned posts, number of working teachers and number of vacant posts have been sought from all the districts.
Primary school teachers are being promoted after a decade. Although according to an estimate, 67 thousand posts are vacant, but in the meantime many teachers have retired. Now the department is to be promoted to the post of headmaster of primary schools and assistant teachers of junior schools. The matter of promotion of junior school principals is in the High Court. In the year 2013, for the first time, the state government had made direct recruitment of 29334 teachers of Mathematics and Science. Now the teachers who have been promoted and the teachers of direct recruitment are face to face regarding their seniority. There is a demand of direct recruited teachers that they are senior to the promoted teachers whereas the government has treated all as equal. Now this matter is in the High Court.
At present, the standards of merit will not be used for promotion as teachers have not yet been evaluated on its fixed standards on the Manav Sampada portal. Promotion will happen in the old way only. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Diet Principal. On the basis of the confidential report of the teachers, objections will be taken by preparing seniority list at the district level and promotions will be done according to the seniority list.
